Historical overview about the General Management of Maintenance
The General Management of Maintenance was established when the university was founded under the name of the Engineering Department, and it carried out the design and implementation work for the university’s buildings and facilities in both Alisha and Al Malaz.
In the year 1397 AH, His Excellency the University Director decided to combine the Engineering Department and the Maintenance and Services Department into one department called the Engineering and Maintenance Department. The department’s tasks were to design, implement and maintain the university’s facilities in Aisha, Al Malaz, and University City in Diriyah.
In the year 1407 AH, the name of the Engineering and Maintenance Department was changed to the Operations and Maintenance Department, which is responsible for all operation and maintenance work in the University City, Alisha and Al Malaz.
In the year 1412 AH, the projects, maintenance and operation were unified into one department called the General Management of Projects and Maintenance, and its operation and maintenance work is managed through the Department (Maintenance Affairs).
In the year 1427 AH, the University Vice Presidency for Projects was established, and the General Management of Maintenance became one of the departments affiliated with the KSU Vice Presidency for Projects.
